Buy a licence

Choose a licence type, add it to your cart and send your order. Payment and activation are processed manually.

The trial version is limited to 25 taxa, 25 glossary terms and 5 media per taxon. A licence removes all of these limits and works on both Mac and Windows. No account needed: choose a licence, enter your email and send your order.

Choosing a licence type#

Personal: for yourself, with no commercial purpose (research, study, hobby, teaching, a personal website without ads).
Commercial: when what you make with the app is sold or paid for, e.g. a field guide or book that is sold, a paid website, or work for clients.
Institution: non-profit organisations such as universities, research institutes, herbaria/museums, NGOs, government agencies and national parks. The licence is in the institution's name and may be used by its staff on the registered computers.
Corporate: companies and businesses, including environmental consultancies, plantations, mining companies and publishers.

Each licence covers a number of computers (see the cards above). Need more? Add extra computers in the cart, or ask for more later by email. Indonesian pricing applies to people and organisations based in Indonesia who pay in rupiah from an Indonesian bank account or e-wallet (transfer/QRIS); we may ask for proof of residence. Prices are in Indonesian rupiah; the US$ amount is an estimate.

How buying works#

Add licences to your cart, enter the name to appear on the licence and your email, then Send order. You receive a confirmation email with your order number.
We review the order manually and reply with the payment details (usually within one working day).
Once payment has been verified, your PBIO-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX licence code is sent to your email.
Enter the code in the app. See Activating a licence code.

Because orders are processed manually, activation is not instant. While you wait, the trial version keeps working and all existing data is safe.

Common questions#

Is there a subscription?: No. A one-off payment, including updates for versions 0.x and 1.x.
Can I buy extra computers later?: Yes. Email us your licence code (the last 4 characters are enough) and how many computers you need.
Can I upgrade from Personal to Commercial?: Yes. You only pay the difference.
Does my institution need an invoice or receipt?: Mention it in the Notes field when ordering. We send it with the payment details.
